Dr. Atousa Attar, OD

Optometrist

“Eye Care for Eyes”

Even though we spend four years learning about the intricacies of the human eye, I firmly believe that our bodies function as a whole. Therefore, my priority is your overall well-being and taking care of all aspects of you.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s in Biology; YES, I LIVED IN MINNESOTA. Once I finished my undergraduate studies, I relocated to Florida to enjoy its warm climate. I had an amazing four years there and received my Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. But, I chose to relocate to California due to the climate and my family.

I consider myself lucky to have begun my career in Ophthalmology at a practice located in Ventura County, California. Working alongside a skilled team of Lasik and Cataract Retinal surgeons, I gained experience that has proven invaluable. Afterward, I relocated to Orange County to reside closer to my family. Now, I can utilize all the knowledge I’ve acquired in my optometry career to better serve my community in a private setting.

Besides optometry, I am a sports enthusiast and love to be outdoors. I play beach volleyball, despite being vertically challenged. I love to run outside and ride my road bike to the beach. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to spend my free time with loved ones. Exploring new places and experiencing diverse cultures is something I enjoy and learn from. I try to incorporate these experiences into my daily routine.

Volunteering in optometric missions to provide the gift of sight to underprivileged communities is one of my passions. I have recently been to Nicaragua and Vietnam as part of this mission.
